Terms of Service
Last updated: May 22, 2026
1. Agreement
By creating an account or using Timeline (the “service”), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service. Timeline is operated by Viva Carta.
2. Your account
You're responsible for the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use the service. One account per person; no sharing or reselling access.
3. Your content
You own the timelines and events you create. By using the service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not claim ownership of your content and will not use it for advertising or training third-party models.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use the service to:
- Violate any law, regulation, or third-party right
- Upload malicious code or attempt to compromise the service
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or resell any part of the service
- Harass, threaten, or impersonate others
- Use the service to operate a competing product
We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.
5. Membership and payment
- Free tier: one timeline, basic features, no community access.
- Member ($20/mo): unlimited timelines, community access, vote on roadmap.
- Subscriptions auto-renew until canceled. Cancel anytime from your dashboard; access continues until the end of the current billing period.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We don't store your card details.
6. Refunds
We offer a full refund within 14 days of your first paid charge if you contact hello@vivacarta.net. After 14 days, subscriptions are non-refundable but you can cancel anytime to stop future charges.
7. Termination
You can delete your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where reasonable. On termination, your content is deleted per the schedule in our Privacy Policy.
8. Service availability
We aim to keep the service running but don't guarantee uninterrupted availability. The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We're a small team building in public. Bugs happen.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Viva Carta is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
